People's Warden
Marietta Flaws I grew up in the Eastern Suburbs, became a Christian in my teens, and studied languages at university. Ian and I felt a call to Bible translation shortly after getting married. We trained in NZ and Australia before going to Papua New Guinea as participants, then staff, on the field training course. Our son, Michael, was born there, and when he was two, we moved to New Caledonia, where we lived in a Kanak village and began working with speakers of the Paicî language to translate the New Testament. After six years, we moved back to NZ, following administrative difficulties, but continued the Paicî project remotely, making trips back to the village. During this time, we taught Phonetics and Language Learning at linguistics summer courses and I served on the Wycliffe NZ Board for two years. In 2008, while in the last few years of the Paicî project, we also became the translation advisors for a new project in a neighbouring language, Cemuhi. The Paicî NT was finally published in 2012 and the Cemuhi NT in 2018. I now help with a small translation project in the Hmwaveke language while Ian works on analysing the grammatical structure of Paicî for post-grad study. I’ve been on Parish Council for two years. |
Synod Representative
Kia ora, my name is Adam. I like the colour yellow. I’ve been leading at the youth group for 3 years now. Through my experiences as a youth leader, my connections to young adults and my experiences as a mission kid in Myanmar I believe I can bring awesome things to Parish Council. Nga mihi. |
Parish Council
Adrian Hendry I have attended All Saints with my wife, Tricia, since 2009. My faith is central to my life, and I really value and enjoy being part of this faith-centred community. I am keen to contribute to our future together and to support our ministry team, by offering my skills and abilities to the Parish Council. With Tricia, I am co-leading the Miramar House Church. I was previously on the Vestry / Parish Council from 2015-2016, helping to look after Parish Finances. I’ve also been one of the team considering our Church Building options, liaising with the Diocese and gathering information to understand the constraints that our category 2 Heritage church building is under, then reporting back to the Parish Council. I work in the IT industry as a senior project manager. |
Corinna Lines
Kia ora. I've worshipped at All Saints for 22 years and gradually got more involved as I've seen God move here and in my life (and as my kids grew up). I work 4 days a week for a writing and training agency, editing reports and coaching people on writing at work. I've served on Parish Council for 4 years — All Saints needs careful governance and I take this responsibility seriously. I enjoy working with people who also seek God's guidance for this place and this community. I'm also very thankful for everything All Saints and its people have sown into my life! |
Daniel Sims
Daniel is married to Claire and moved here for work two years ago. He works at Sharesies and has been on a number of governance boards. He has lived abroad as a missionary kid and also brings some connections in his past to TSCF and youth ministry in Dunedin. He is a passionate follower of Jesus. |
Jonathan Peacey
Jonathan has been part of the All Saints family for one year. He became a follower of Jesus at Canterbury University and grew as a disciple in the context of the Navigators organisation. Following graduation, he moved to Dunedin to start a fisheries management career. He and Fernah, an ICU nurse, led the Otago University Navigators Ministry for 8 years. Since then, they have been Wellington-based, with periods working in Tauranga, London, Solomon Islands, and Kiribati. Recently, Jonathan completed four years as Aotearoa Country Director for The Nature Conservancy, a global NGO. He and Fernah have continued their disciplemaking ministry in various contexts, including young adults ministry, helping new believers study the bible, mentoring believers in the Pacific Islands, and leading a church pre-marriage ministry. He thinks a lot about how followers of Jesus can help build God’s Kingdom in a post-Christian society and is committed to the All Saints mission. Previous governance roles include board member of International Students Ministries (NZ) and elder at The Street Church. Jonathan and Fernah have three adult children and seven grandchildren, all involved in churches in Wellington and Palmerston North. Jonathan is a keen skier, MTB rider, and hiker, and loves spending time with his tamariki and mokopuna. |
