All Saints and Rita Angus

As a parish, We wanted to update you about our ministry to Rita Angus in Kilbirnie.

For many years now, All Saints has provided ministry, alongside other denominations in the area, to Rita Angus Retirement Village, and we will continue to do that.
When we arrived nearly four years ago, it was Edna Hurd who was in the role of leading this ministry and had been faithfully serving there following on from Larry Ashmore previously; since then, St Aidens have jumped on board with alternating services as they to have people from their community there.

Heading into the future, we have decided alongside Edna for her to step down from that role to make way for Cassandra to step in as part of her ordination journey. I (Guy) will be walking alongside Cassandra for the first wee while as she finds her feet, but we are excited for her to take on this increased responsibility, as are the residents who attend.

At this time, I want to extend a great amount of thanks and honor to Edna for the years of service she has put into this ministry; she puts her whole self into it and has served with love and grace.

Edna has written a few words that are posted here for you to read.

"It has been my joy and privilege to take the service at Rita Angus over the last years.  To serve the regulars and others that come with what could well be their last Communion, something I have always been aware of—meeting and talking to others at morning tea or sitting in the atrium and praying for the village, its staff, management, and the residents, sharing the thoughts of others. We now share this ministry with St. Aidans, month about. So thank you God for this incredible journey and experience"

Please pray for Edna as we discern the next steps and opportunities to continue to serve. Pray for Cassandra and the residents at Rita Angus as they continue to read the word of God, pray, and gather around God's Holy Table.

If you are interested in any chaplaincy ministry, there are serval opportunities to serve; please reach out to me (Guy) via email.

Much love,
