All about the Saints...
When Rev Ben Arcus handed in his resignation as our vicar last month, we as wardens and council offered him the possibility of an early release should a teaching position become available. This is just to let you know that Ben has been offered a teaching job in Masterton that will require him to leave at the end of this month (January).
Ben's final service will be Sunday 27 January at 9.30am followed by a shared brunch/lunch.
If you would like to make contributions to a farewell gift, either do so by direct credit, put it in the collection bag, in an envelope marked "Ben's farewell" or hand in to the office.
Please also bring a plate of finger food to share.
Please note this is a combined service starting at 9.30am. We will revert to our usual two services at 9am and 10.30am on Sunday 3 February
We will be working hard with Ben in the remaining time to ensure as smooth a transition as possible.
Please be patient if there are any hiccups, and mindful of the extra load that this has put on Susanne as manager and us as wardens. Council will be meeting next week to discuss the possibility of a vicar for our interregnum. The nominator committee is also at work looking for a permanent replacement. We may well be left to our own resources to navigate through February but we have the talent in the congregation and are up to the task if we all tackle it with enthusiasm, forbearance and good will.
Please contact us with any queries or concerns you have. We will all try to work through this together as best we can.
