Vicar's Letter - 5th August 2022

5/8/2022

Another week has been and gone in the life of the church.
It was a great week last week with many turning out to the Go Sunday initiatives. Below is a picture of the knitting group at church - such a great chance to come together and do something for the wider community.

Well done to everyone who participated - again we have heard so many great things from the Playcentre, Food for Thought, the Knitting Crew and our prayer space!

This week we are in house churches and are excited by the possibility of what these hold, as we journey together deeper. Guy will be bringing us the sermon: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

This week I was reminded of a 3DM shape: The Balanced Relationships Triangle. This was particularly helpful as a model of what Jesus is asking of us at this time. The triangle is simple, it says that Christians should have three relationships in balance:
1. Relationship with God, Holy Spirit and Jesus.
2. Relationships with other Christians.
3. Relationships with those outside of the church.

As we journey through our rhythm here at All Saints - perhaps you can see how we are trying to build a good practice of building these three relationships. Or perhaps you can see these in play as we look at our values (Jesus Centered, Authentic Community, Missional Living). All in all we are practicing and continuing to practice keeping these three relationships in balance.

My hope is that this helps us to remain pure in heart. That we are dedicated to following Jesus' way and building his kingdom and therefore will see God at work in all of this. May you continue to develop these three relationships in your life and use All Saints gatherings as a way to do that!

Notices for this week:
- We are still keen to see people along to the MAP (Mission Action Plan) sessions: Taking Flight. You can see all the previous work people have done on the walls at All Saints and we will add to this as we go along.
We are trying to answer the question: What does God want us to do for the next 5 years here at All Saints?

Have blessed week and see you all at central gatherings next Sunday
