Easter Retreat 2024

5/4/2024

The Pack youth group trekked off to Easter Camp last weekend to celebrate easter. It was a weekend of fun, chaos and Jesus as we spent time together as a group and in prayer.
There were more highlights than can be counted (and of full and diverse variety) but here are a few moments that stuck with me since camp.
  • Watching our young people go hard at worship and praise, seeing them all just go absolutely 100%
  • Anaiwan and Adam (two of our amazing leaders) with straightened hair (pictures available on request). These two good hearted lads agreed to have their hair straightened. By young people. In what can only be described as an act of trust.
  • Cara (our amazing singing young person) coming second in the talent contest, followed up by our spectacular Molly (another young person) winning the dancing contest.
  • Tipping a young person into the pool, followed closely by watching Adam being thrown in the pool by a group of leaders (this may have been organised revenge by our very own Andy Spence – see why below)
  • Sticking about 200 photos of Andy up around camp. There were Andys everywhere. Andy was its own verb. Special shout out to the young person from Newtown who managed to sneak one into Andy’s hoodie during breakfast.
  • An Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday. We hid eggs around for each other to find – much laughter and arguments followed regarding the ease at which eggs were found.
  • Finally, growing together as a crew, praying together, and getting to know Jesus.
A huge thanks to everyone who prayed and supported us! We can't do it without you. Lastly, a special shout out to our amazing leaders who gave the weekend their absolute all for our young people - their dedication to the young people and following Jesus is an inspiration.
