This year at All Saints we will be having services on all the usual days.
- Maundy Thursday (28th Mar) We will be having a light supper at 5:45pm followed by a 7pm service at All Saints. At this service, we will have Footwashing and Communion before we walk with Jesus to the Cross. Remember the last supper and the chance he took to wash his disciple's feet as he served those he loved. We will strip the Altar at the end as the lights are dimmed. The service will end and we will leave in silence. - Good Friday (29th Mar) We will be meeting at St Patrick's in Kilburnie at 10am with some stations and reflections, then we will be moving through Kilbirnie Park for some more Stations and reflections, Ending at All Saints for the final walk towards the Cross. We will end with tea and coffee + Hot cross buns. - On Easter Sunday (31st Mar) we will have a 9am Traditional and 10:30am Family gatherings are both happening on Easter Sunday. Come and celebrate with us the good news our community, friends and family need to know! Sick of what the world is selling you? feel like there is better news? there has to be more than this? Spoiler alert: There is Good News! Come and check in with us this Easter! Scientists (including our very own Andrew Stewart) when on an expedition in the underexplored Bounty Trough off New Zealand have discovered approximately 100 new and potentially new ocean species. This three-week voyage, conducted by scientists from multiple organizations and countries, collected nearly 1800 samples from depths of up to 4800 meters along the 800-kilometer-long Bounty Trough. Read all about it here or watch this news report about it
You will have seen that this week we sent out a login where you can keep track of your own contact details with the Parish. This is also where you have an online directory.
In case you need some help setting up, and working out how to use the system and what you can do on it please see these help videos! Very short but very helpful. https://help.infoodle.com/v1/docs/quick-tips#1-new-user-basics Thanks Andrew Spence
Most people become Christians and make decisions for Jesus before they are 18. A vast majority are under the age of 13!
On top of this, we have 35 children and their families connected to our family's house church and in the wider community. So we are seeking to appoint a Children's worker to help us grow, develop and disciple this age group. We are excited to invite as many families (and adults!) as possible to our upcoming fair on the 24th of March! The event promises to be a delightful experience with a wide array of attractions including delicious food, vibrant music, engaging crafts, exciting auctions, captivating raffles, a selection of second-hand toys, books, and clothing, as well as entertaining games. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy at this fair, and we hope to see you there!
Parish Council would like to update you about our Mission Spending.
We have a committment here to spend 10% of our offertories on mission outside of the church ministry. Last year we spent the following:
Total spending: $23,800 Not too late to join
There’s still space on three Education for Ministry (EfM) groups beginning soon. Two meet in the Garden Room of St Peter’s on Willis, and one is online. EfM is an adult learning programme designed to link Christian faith with daily life, and to deepen Christian discipleship. It combines scholarly and systematic Bible study and education in theology and church history, with small group worship, prayer and fellowship. What we learn through our study is joined to our own lives and experiences through the exciting, challenging, and faith-building process of theological reflection. Join us for an inter-church picnic for singles at Waitangi Park on Sunday, March 10th, starting at 12:30 PM. It's an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals from different churches. Don't forget to bring along some kai, a picnic blanket to relax on, and any outdoor games or a ball you'd like to play. Get ready for a memorable afternoon of laughter, conversation, and building new connections within our vibrant god loving community of singles.
We kept an HDMI to USB-C connector in a drawer in the table below the meeting room TV. It disappeared in November.
Have you taken it home by mistake? We'd love to have it back so people can connect their laptops to the big screen. Thanks! |
